Ammaji's 83rd Birthday Celebrations at Sri Kambaliswami Madam

Param Pujya Ammaji's 83rd Birthday was celebrated in a truly grand and heartfelt manner at Sri Kambaliswami Madam on 13 September 2026. Hundreds of devotees, students, well-wishers, and members of our extended yogic family gathered to participate in the special puja and offer their love, respect, and gratitude to our beloved Ammaji.

The occasion was made even more special by the presence of the residential sadhakas of the Gitananda Yoga Chikitsa programme, led by Yogacharya Nilachal, who had come from different parts of the world to be with Ammaji on this auspicious day. Many senior students who had trained under her at Sri Kambaliswami Madam over the decades also returned to pay their respects, reminiscing about the countless ways in which Ammaji has touched and transformed their lives. The atmosphere throughout the day was one of profound devotion, joy, and heartfelt thanksgiving.

The celebrations were further enriched by the soulful Bhajans offered by the students of ICYER, whose heartfelt singing filled the sacred precincts of the Madam with uplifting devotional vibrations. A beautiful Bharatanatyam offering by Neeru Parashar and Shaktimaa Devasenaji, presented with deep bhava and reverence, became another highlight of the programme, expressing through movement and music the love and gratitude that all of us hold in our hearts for Ammaji.

It was also a joy to have the loving presence of Chinna Ammaji, Yogasadhaki Dhivya Priya Bhavanani, and Junior Madatipathi, Yogasadhaka Anandraj Bhavanani, whose devotion, humility, and dedicated service beautifully reflect the living continuity of our Guru Parampara. Their participation brought immense happiness to Ammaji and reminded us that the sacred legacy established by Swamiji and Ammaji continues to flourish through the next generation.

The gathering was further blessed by the gracious and dignified presence of so many of Ammaji's long-time students and devotees, including Smt. Lalitha and Shri Shanmugam, Shri. R Ramani, Smt. Karpagam and Shri Sozhan, Smt. Subba Rajkumar, Shri Muruga Babuji, Shri Selvaraj, Shri Selvakumar, Dr G Dayanidy and Smt Reena, Shri Murugan, Shri Krishna Rao and family, and many others whose lives have been deeply enriched by Ammaji's love and guidance. It was especially heartwarming that Shri Soundararajan undertook the long journey all the way from Mumbai simply to be at Ammaji's feet on her birthday, a beautiful testament to the deep love and gratitude she inspires in all who know her.

A special word of appreciation must go to Yoga Thilagam Dr. R Balaji, whose loving care made it possible for Ammaji to travel comfortably from Auroville to Sri Kambaliswami Madam. Over the past six years, our dear Bala has provided Ammaji with exemplary medical care, professional dedication, and selfless service. Whenever Ammaji wishes to visit the Madam or travel anywhere within Puducherry, he quietly ensures that every detail is taken care of so that she can do so in complete comfort, dignity, and safety. We all owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for this beautiful seva.

The celebrations reflected the immense love that Ammaji inspires across the world. Along with those physically present, many of her dear "eaglets" from every continent sent warm birthday greetings through emails, letters, messages, and prayers. It was deeply touching to witness this global outpouring of affection for one who has dedicated her entire life to the service of Yoga, Dharma, and humanity.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed financially or through generous material donations towards the birthday celebrations and the ongoing activities of the Ashram. Such tangible expressions of gratitude help sustain the institutions, traditions, and sacred work that Swamiji and Ammaji have nurtured through decades of tireless effort, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
Ammaji continues to stand before us as a living embodiment of Yoga—a true role model whose every thought, word, and action reflects the highest ideals of our tradition. As the Living Siddha of Puducherry, her blessings continue to inspire us to grow, to glow, and to walk the yogic path with sincerity, humility, and dedication.

Swamiji and Ammaji have given all of us the priceless gift of this extraordinary yogic way of life. May we prove worthy of their boundless grace by expressing our gratitude not merely in words, but through concrete actions that support them, strengthen our institutions, preserve our Guru Parampara, and ensure that this timeless tradition continues to flourish for generations yet to come.
Jai Jai Ammaji Ki Araharohara!
